Bittensor EVM Capabilities on the Horizon

In a significant development announced at this week's TGIFT conference, Const revealed that the Opentensor Foundation and community developers are actively working to integrate the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) onto the blockchain.

Prefacing his statement with a "spoiler alert," Const disclosed that smart contracts will be deployed on the Subtensor blockchain, paving the way for seamless bridging and laying the groundwork for future community-driven products.

According to Const, subnet owners are also expected to build contracts for tooling purposes, expanding the ecosystem's capabilities.

Greg, a team member from OpenTensor, shared that the upcoming upgrade will also involve the creation of Alpha tokens in ERC-20 format. Greg expressed enthusiasm for the limitless possibilities that will emerge once the RAO is migrated to the mainchain, hinting at a new era of innovation and growth for the Bittensor community. To facilitate seamless adoption, Greg is working on a set of example contracts for deployment and connection to networks

We were able to locate the commit to the EVM chains metadata list by Greg - and an early EVM demo. We have attached a video of the TGIFT Novelty search along with relevant time stamps for those that wish to explore further.
